Home school sports became available in Michigan over 30 years ago.  Shortly after home school teams began to develop, a partnership among programs began to form, and a home school association was developed.

The name was changed to reflect the unity of all the Michigan programs and all the home school sports it encompasses.  Each sport has it’s own leadership and support structures and there are currently over 30 sports programs around the state.  The Association attempts to provide uniform eligibility and a level playing field for home school sports.  The West Michigan Home School Athletics Association is the first of its kind for home school sports, with our flagship sport currently being Basketball.
